Bill Hicks

Postby seeker1117 » Mon Nov 07, 2011 2:01 pm

Seem to remember flipping through forum and caught sight of a post about Bill Hicks/Alex Jones, made a mental note to respond to it later. Just went a-lookin' for it and can't seem to find hide-nor-hair of it.

Was that post "disappeared" or am I really goin' nuts?

Its possible that it was posted and one of the mods moved it?
Otherwise, missing posts are not usual. If there is a hack attack on the site, posts may be deleted, but we do not delete posts unless there is a good reason.

Oh that was me in a crazy moment after seeing Bill Hicks on TV the other morning, I thought I was seeing a younger Alex Jones, but I am not much on crazy conspiracies, so I removed it.

Ha! I can definitely see how you could think that. I'm a HUGE fan of Brother Bill's from all the way back to the 70s...he IS a Texas Boy, after all...he was a HUGE influence on my thought processes at the time, and he left his mark. The news that he had died hit me hard. My last memory of him was getting to talk to him via phone as the "last caller" on what ended up being his last appearance on a local Austin "community TV" talk show. I'd have to venture a guess that Alex Jones prolly wouldn't have "happened" had it NOT been for Bill Hicks, so I don't think you were too off base...not by a long shot! Bill HIcks, just by the very act of BEING "Bill Hicks," gave countless repressed Texans the "permission" they needed to think for themselves for the first time! When I discovered Brother Bill, I felt an incredible sense of "Whew...I ain't the only one, after all!"

One thing to do is put the words in the search function. It works very well as I have used it many times to find an old post.

I did. That's what led me to post this. Typed in "Bill Hicks" and got nada.

It is really a huge huge shame he died so young. We sure need more peoeple like him. Anybody that can slap people upside the head and wake them up or give them the strength to start thinking and looking around is a hero in my book.

Hi Seeker1117,
his might be a good time to rename the subject of your first post of this thread to "Bill Hicks" ? Since the original got mixed up. I try to advocate naming first posts for what the thread becomes anyway.

*Bump*

I just watched American The Bill Hicks Story. It is a BBC production and leaves no stone unturned in the life of Bill Hicks. It made me extremely sad he died so young. He was so brilliant and really nails everything that is so wrong in our world.
I highy recommend it to anybody.
