Erich von Daniken: Evidence of the Gods

Postby Hinduw » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:46 pm

I saw an interview with EvD and he said he was getting old and that his last book was going to be something like "Erich von Daniken Total" where he puts forward the hardest evidence that is undeniable. Is this still being written? I loved his compilation in "In Search of Ancient Gods"..I'd love to read this TOTAL book.

Added the new title of the book to the thread title-Mercury

His latest book is Twilight of the Gods and that was last year. I have not seen any news at his official site about a final book he is writing.

http://www.daniken.com/

It would not surprise me if he is working on a final book like Mr Zecharia Sitchin did.

I have Twilight of the Gods, and History is Wrong, both great books, but remember that books come out 2 years in America after they first come out in Europe, because of the translations. EvD has 2 more books in Europe that are being translated for America. He has many more books that aren't published in English. Man, I would love him to pay for translations. He has the money! Lol.

I've been wanting to find someone I can pay to translate a lot of books (like EvDs) related to AAT. , wonder if we got a small group together to pay for a private translation...

Or SOMETHING like that. I want to read his "God Shock" book so badly!

Many of his books awaiting translations are just rehashes of his old theories. You can get the German versions at most on-line stores just to collect them.

He would also of mentioned something at his website if he is writing a final book.

History is Wrong is a good book of his where he does explain some past mistakes. It is good to finally get his side of the story, and he does take responsibility for part of the mistakes made. That shows me he is an honorable man who is not afraid to show he is human.

I'm just taking it from the lion's mouth, or however that metaphor is. I would buy his German books, but because of the drought my money tree died. Sigh :(

If he is writing his last book, I do think the US will get it rather quickly as it will be a best seller.

It does seem logical he is writing one last big tome in which he puts all of his findings together. I look forward to it, and will keep on searching for more information about it.

It really saddens me that a man who has sold over 60 million copies worldwide won't spend a few bucks to make these in English.... :(

It is not up to him, but his publisher. They have the rights to sell his materials all over the world and it could be copyright matters.

We do get his best books in the USA, so I am not too worried about it. (Some of the titles not available here may be different versions of some of the stuff previously released here.)

Regardless of who it is, they need to shape up! I would love to have them.

Is he still working on it? Gosh, I really hope so. I hope it beats the crap out of his "In Search of Ancient Gods" because he has had over 20 more years to study this stuff.

I had no clue he had written THAT many books. Well, not suprising since I recently got intrested in this subject about ancient/modern aliens by watching lots of episodes of AA. But I think I will try to get a copy of CotG as soon as possible.

A lot of the books are German language versions of ones released in the UK and the USA. They also are earlier printings and some have had title changes.

They should be available in Swedish as they are in many other languages all over the world. This is from his website:

Erich von Däniken's books have been translated into 32 languages, and have sold 63 million copies worldwide. From his books two full-length documentary films have been produced: Chariots of the Gods and Messages of the Gods. Of the more than 3,000 lectures which Erich von Däniken has given in 25 countries, over 500 were presented at universities. Fluent in four languages, Erich von Däniken is an avid researcher and a compulsive traveller, averaging 100'000 miles each year to remote spots of the Earth. This enables him to closely examine the phenomena about which he writes.

It does not indicate what those languages are unfortunately.

Of course he will make some mistakes; he is only human and he was working on his own for a very very long time!

Good news: Herr von Daniken has a new book coming out in November:

Evidence of the Gods: A Visual Tour of Alien Influence in the Ancient World

I think this is the book the OP was talking about at the beginning. I have it on my wish list and can't wait for it.
