I just posted a picture of a clay figure I have owned about 3 years.I have other views of the effigy if anybody is interested.If anyone has any opinions, on the age or origin please write.Thanks, John

Fetapro, Thanks for the interest in the clay effigy. There was a man and wife who were from Florida I think.They had a antique and curiosity shop plus I believe many private objects they had collected through the years. I was told by the manager of the mall they were retiring.They had a Booth and showcase in the same antique mall as me.They were there just to liquidate there holdings, get some cash and move on.I saw the clay effigy in the showcase shortly after they moved in. The price they had on the object was beyond what I could afford. They had some other I believe old South or Central American clay items. The owner of the object said he had had it for many years. I assume in his private collection.I told him I really liked the figure but couldn't afford the price on it. He told me that I could have it for a lower price. That month I had sold quite a few things at the antique mall.I took my earnings, paid my rent and bought the effigy.

In the book "The Jesus Papers" by Michael Baigent, the topic of ancient documents and artifacts being in private collections is brought up. Apparently, most of the very rare and mysterious documents that might tell us something are owned by some very powerful and rich people who keep them hidden away.

This is a very interesting story you are telling us, werty, unfortunately your link does not work.

Well he is a creepy looking little guy. Does it have an enlongate skull or does it appears to have a hat/helmet with horns on it. I just posted a few of the pictures people, do check out the link.

Actually, I think he is kind of cute. Well odd.If you look he may have ear covers or receivers on. Also look at his hands. They have some kind of gloves on. I guess he pretty much fits the description of little green men.

very nice guy you got there. i have 3 i recently aquired myself. almost went broke doing so. when i get my camera back ill throw some pics up of em.
i think it looks like he has a helmet on. because it does not seem flush against the brow area. and with the gloves. could he have been some sort of ancient viking traveler with his horned helmet? it is known that the vikings more than likely sailed the oceans before columbus. traveling through different regions. always having to do work on their ships and such. they would want to protect their hands. gloves would come in handy for something like this.
plus it shows them eating. they obviously enjoyed eating to show them doing this. imagine your a viking sailing the ocean. you dont know where you'll end up so they stock up on a large amount of food that will last them a good amount of time. they have probably been eating the same things for months? who knows. if they ended up making there way to a south american country, imagine the joy they would have with the abundant variety of foods and fruits that their toungues have never touched.
