Giorgio's Answer - ...to Aiden's Question

Postby Giorgio Tsoukalos » Sat Mar 06, 2010 8:18 pm

This is in reference to what was written in the following thread:

http://www.legendarytimes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=980

Aidenkai wrote:I guess I joined this forum too late, since I have been here, I have not seen one post from giorgio. Does he read these posts anymore, I really only joined this site for a couple reasons, one to discuss like minded things with similiar minded people, and second to be able to ask and discuss things with giorgio himself about certain topics. Guess the latter isn't going to happen.

Oh well I am content with speaking with the one's that do read my post's, I can settle for that at least.

I guess if I was a big time archeological tv star, who I understand is very busy, I wouldn't pay much attention to the general public either. lol unless they subscribed to my magazine. BTW just kidding about that last part, don't get angry people, IT'S A JOKE.

Aiden

You did it, Aiden. You just did it. Every 6 months (or so) someone like you comes along on this Forum and boy, they just don't know how to behave themselves, how to keep a civil head, nor can they read and follow rather easy instructions...

Believe me, Aiden, some Forum Members are actually rubbing their hands together right now of what's about to come. ...looking forward with unbridled anticipation to the public shellacking I'm about to give you - consider yourself honored, you're not the first, but you're one in only a few cases...

You wanted my attention? You've got it.

First of all, had you read the instructions of how this particular section works, I explicitly pointed out that "Oh, and please do not be short-tempered if after 5 minutes I haven't answered your question. Weeks, sometimes months, can go by in which I'm nowhere near a computer or have online access, so please, be patient and cool. [...] no need to flip out over it."

Yet here you are spouting off at the mouth with unsubstantiated garbage. You want the truth? It's impatient people like you, Aiden, why I rarely pop up in this Forum anymore - and it is because of people like you why Erich von Daniken and I have had some very, very serious discussions about whether or not to shut down this Forum.

So far, we've decided against it because for every moron that comes along there are twenty cool, good-hearted, non-judgmental, level-headed people that come here to have a good time and exchange ideas with others, regardless whether or not I'm here answering every single post.

In my "Welcome" letter on this Forum, I've also explicitly stated that "While I look forward to contribute to this Forum, I envision this Forum to be mainly self-run by its Members, so please, I greatly encourage you to start your own topics of discussion, [...]" <---- so please, Aiden, I ask you, how did this sentence give you the idea that I'd participate on this Forum on an hourly basis?

Oh, wait, you probably never read my welcome letter. Right. I see.

Truth be told, I've about had it with people like you. And it isn't even the "being impatient" part that ticks me off. Oh no, it's this:

Aidenkai wrote:I guess if I was a big time archeological tv star, who I understand is very busy, I wouldn't pay much attention to the general public either. lol unless they subscribed to my magazine. BTW just kidding about that last part, don't get angry people, IT'S A JOKE.

You claim that your comment is a "joke", but believe me, and please hear me loud and clear: this isn't a joke. This is a serious allegation against me and my person. How dare you?

Let me ask you one simple question I want you to answer truthfully: when was the last time you showed up to work for free? Without getting paid? Never, huh? Thought so.

Explain to me then, why I should I give Legendary Times Magazine away for free? That is how I make my living. That is what pays for our research so many of our worldwide readers enjoy to read about every time a new issue of Legendary Times Magazine comes out.

Do you really think those pages print themselves?

You see, NO ONE has ANY idea what goes into publishing each and every new issue of Legendary Times Magazine. After everything is said and done (getting the articles, translating the articles, editing the articles, proofing the articles, layout design, photo rights, printing, mailing cost, domestic and international, etc.) you must fork over 8 grand. Yes, EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS. PER issue. Didn't know that, did you?

And what? Do I have a money tree in my back yard? According to you, I must have such a wondrous plant because I cannot ask for anyone to please subscribe to Legendary Times Magazine because... - why again? Why can't LT Magazine be supported by its Members? Enlighten me, oh wise one.

Do the math, son. Quickly! That's $32,000 in magazine production cost alone. This amount does NOT incorporate any of the other overhead our research organization incurs.

I will not apologize to anyone, especially to you, that I make my living publishing this magazine. It's the backbone of The Center for Ancient Astronaut Research (A.A.S R.A.) and I've published this puppy for the past 12 years and I'll. Be. Damned. If I won't publish this magazine until the day I die. That's where it's at, Aiden. And it's killjoys like you who come along every so often to spoil the fun for everyone. Everyone.

And I "wouldn't pay much attention to the general public, either?" What exactly is wrong with you? I don't quite know what planet you're from, but I AM a member of the general public, as hard as this might be to accept for you. We ALL are. None of us are above anyone else. Those who claim to be, or are put on pedestals by others, need to reflect deeply of who they think they are.

As far as your question above is concerned,

Aidenkai wrote:When you visit these ancient sites, do you or others use precautions in regards to the ancient microscopic bugs that might inhabit some of these places that humans have not been around for centuries?

Aiden

...here you are spouting off against me, grandstanding on your rickety soapbox, yet you can't comprehend how this particular "Things you always wanted to ask Giorgio A. Tsoukalos" section actually works. Please tell me this: How come you're asking a question within the answer of another question? Why?

What does the Sticky at the top of this section say?

Doesn't it say (read with me, word for word, you can do it!) "Ask Giorgio a question HERE! In THIS thread! Click HERE."

Go check it out. Here Aiden, I'll even make it easy for ya, can you click on this link here?

http://www.legendarytimes.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=36

Please Aiden, take a hike.

In case you haven't noticed, you've just rubbed me the wrong way.

Well since I didn't get back to this site til now....

I guess I will respond now...

You had absolutely EVER right to scold me as you did, I will be the first to admit when i bleep up and made a mistake. I am sorry.

My question was rather strange after going back to read it.

"Let me ask you one simple question I want you to answer truthfully: when was the last time you showed up to work for free? Without getting paid? Never, huh? Thought so.

Explain to me then, why I should I give Legendary Times Magazine away for free? That is how I make my living. That is what pays for our research so many of our worldwide readers enjoy to read about every time a new issue of Legendary Times Magazine comes out.

I absolutely don't believe it's free to keep it up, and I most certainly know that it takes hard work and dedication to keep up a magazine like this with how people view things in the world. If I was wealthy, I swear your magazine AND efforts would have my support financially. You should probably charge more LOL. This is vital information that every human being needs to read and pay strong attention to, simply because as I stated in my private message to you, this stuff will eventually be taught as history to our children and grandchildren, and you as well as others in this field( Erich Von Daniken, Jason Martel, Lloyd Pye) will ALL be in the history books.

As I also stated in my message to you, IT WAS MEANT as a joke to others and I didn't personally believe that you would even see it and on the off chance you did, I figured you would be human enough to have a giggle about it. I see the error of my ways and won't break the rules again. I did read everything before joining this site and I was well aware that you would not be replying to anything I wrote within a short period, if at all. I was not waiting at my computer or hitting the refresh button to see if you responded ( who does that? ), but even tho it was a slam too me, I am giddy to know that you did respond to a humble servant like me.

I hope you can forgive me and we can start over. If not that is okay too. But I want to seek more knowledge in this area. I want to learn all I can, but I am limited to my computer screen to seek out this knowledge. So to have someone like you responding too me ( whatever way ), I feel is awsome. Next time tho, I hope we are discussing something about the topic at hand instead of talking about this stuff.

THank You and I am Sorry!

I believe that prior to someone judging another, they should first have to look in the mirror. As was stated it takes money to make money, and all the time and research it takes to accomplish all that can be done in regards to the Ancient Astronaut Theory must be very enormous. I say this since on my own since age 15, researching, and seeking out information, and what little exploration I have been able to do, took years, and money, and I didn't even scratch much of the surface, so anyone who complains about the persons that publish these type of magazines, books, and internet sites really needs to do their own research first, and then see what to accomplish it before they judge. Just researching on what it takes to do a magazine is astounding, so I say forget about it, and pick a worthwhile subject. Anyway the cost of doing such as these guys have done, is why I haven't tried to do it myself.

Apparently, the LT Mag hasn't been published for a couple years. Even all the old copies are sold out. It's as if the site has been abandoned except for the few forum members who come and go.

The book store is apparently open, but I'd be wary about sending payment, as there may not be anybody there to send the book.

Just to set the record straight. I have ordered many books from the LT bookstore. It is practically automatic and the delivery very fast. I have never failed to receive anything.

The timing of the Legendary Times magazine is sometimes a little confusing. Mainly because occasionally, two or more issues are lumped together. That said, I have received every copy since I joined. There is nothing ignored or abandoned. Giorgio has been doing this HIMSELF!!! Maybe now with the series, he can afford to hire an assistant.

I wish there was an easier way to tell when it is time to renew my membership, but well, we can't have everything.

Reading the rules

Postby epiphanee » Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:09 am

I find it really sad that Giorgio Tsoukalos had to waste time on an extreme posting to someone who broke his rules. I would have rather read that much information about AAT.

Don't be discouraged or even bothered by the frustrations of others. I wouldn't have posted anything past two sentences. Bless your heart for making an impacting difference on someone's manners.

You are doing a great service to mankind and all of us intelligent, truth seeking skywatchers. You are at the top of my hero list, and since learning about AAT I have the confidence to teach my kids something about their origins that isn't shrouded entirely in superstition or ridiculous speculation.

You need an assistant, I need a job! I start the Anthropology program in the fall. I have a part time job at the museum tagging photo descriptions for the database. You want my help, just ask! I'd LOVE to contribute! I work dirt cheap. LOL :D I've also read many others who want to help!

Shooting into Super Stardom

Postby Toby Dubes » Fri Feb 04, 2011 2:36 pm

I'm sure it as much a surprise to Giorgio, David and Erich how they have been shot into super stardom in some arenas. Zecharia Sitchen and EvD have been trying to tell us all this for decades. Apparently the world is ready to hear it now since it has gone mainstream to the History Channel. Now that the mucky mucks in TV have seen the response they will be able to sell much more expensive ads during the show, so believe me now that LT concepts are marketable, they will be taking all our favs of Giorgio, David, Erich and that young guy who is so eloquent but I can't remember his name, into super stardom where they could soon be household names. Count your blessings that we got to be involved before there will not be many opportunities to interact with them at all. Thank the gods that someone had the cahungas to speak out what some of us have known all along.
