1. Fix my winshield on my '12 Focus,
2. Gotta get the wife an anniversary gift,
3. Man I hate building 747 parts more than 777 parts - lol,
4. Ooooh I need to start my CATIA training,
5. I think I know how we can make a UFO!
Okay so these are very basic sketches, emphasis on sketch, of how I think we could do it. I thought about how an aeroplane flys. You have low pressure air over high pressure air which causes lift. So what you see here is an internal airfoil that goes all the way around the circumfrance of the disc. It's all one piece held in place by stabilizers. It's not ilustrated but both the upper an lower halves rotate in the opposite direction of movement (more later on that). Anyway I have a ton of high power magnetic ion exchangers that sit in front of the 'Omega Wing'. By exchanging ions between a group of magnetic blades air is drawn in an pushed at the wings cross section thus lift is achieved according to my hypothesis.
Now the upper and lower halves rotate on magnetic rails so it's in a frictionless environment. It motion in any direction is achieved my like a helicopter. Except there is no 'collective pitch' control; just 'cyclic'. The G-Force is so great that the slightest tip sends the craft rocketing out. The omega wing is built on a 'swash plate' type structure much like a heli. So when you tip forward the wing auto corrects to 'trim' the balance and keep the craft level when need be. The halves rotate in the opposing direction of movement to 'trick' the laws of gravity onto thinking only 1G should be present whilst moving about. So one is throwing and one is pulling or are they? Flip her upside down and the same is still true. So think big honking gyro scope, LOL.
I wish I had an animation ready for you guys. I'll make one very soon in 3DS Max 2010!
First sketch internal Omega Wing (rotating gyro)

Second sketch (lift only outer omega wings)

More will follow as I refine the process.
