Since we have been having all sorts of crappy weather conditions, let's keep track.

Nothing new in my neck of the woods...

La Nina is back for a second straight fall/winter. The main signature from October through December during a La Nina episode is above-average precipitation. Crikey, in the Pacific Northwest that means we will be getting rained on by the buckets full!

San Diego is about to get the first big rain for this time of year. It will probably start raining once a week now all winter.
100% chance of rain today and it is really dark clouds hanging out.

Rain over night, woke up to snow on the mountains. Tied a record last set in 1969 for the shortest amount of time between snow storms in Lake Tahoe - 96 days. Not much of a summer here that's for sure!

Here in Austin, it's finally cooled down to under 100 during the day. Still hittin' 90, but at least we can go outside. Still no rain, but some clouds finally building. They give it a 30-50% chance of rain Fri,Sat & Sun. Here's hopin'. Oh, and La Nina means exactly the opposite for Texas: hotter and drier than normal. So our drought will continue. There's even a state climatologist predicting it may last for the next TEN years. If that's so, we won't have a single tree left.

Beautiful day today: nice and sunny and warm in the 70s. This whole week is going to be perfect for me.

I plan to sit outside and walk my cats.

Maybe I will go to the beach with my boys before the cold weather gets here. (It is expected to be a doozy.)

We had our first snow fall last night. Maybe about an inch in a matter of a few minutes, the snow flakes were huge like big feathers.
From what we are hearing it is going to be a long cold winter, I love snow when I don't have to get out and drive in it.

I start work at 6 am so atleast there aren't a lot of drivers out then and usually the snow plow has been by.

It is supposed to be colder and much more snow for those of us in Chicago. The reasoning is the upper Pacific Ocean is colder than usual and the wind will carry this cold air to interact with the Great Lakes. My cats are quite fat and that is an indication it is going to be cold.

Today we're in the 70s, but cloudy. Gulf moisture blowin' in, and it'll be warmer the next couple days, into the 80s. We had mid-30s night before last. It's Texas. Wait five minutes.

Our trees are confused. With the drought, most of them dropped a huge amount of leaves in August. One of our peach trees was completely bare. Since we've finally gotten a bit of rain, the trees and native ground cover plants are tryin' hard to "come back", but just in time for what passes for Fall here. We have a Bradford Pear down by the creek that's blooming as if it thinks it's spring. That bare peach tree has leafed out again, just in time to lose 'em.

This afternoon was the first time I've looked around and thought "It's fall." All the Hackberry tree leaves are turning yellow, and it's finally temps where we can sit outside in the afternoons. And that's a good thing, after the worst summer on record for us.

It's 6.46pm and we are down to 44f, looks like a freeze tonight.

You folk in the north may laugh at 44f but to us in South Texas that's darned cold, brrrrrr!!

Lucky me I've been in the Philippines for 10 months and the past 2 months are sunny and high 80's everyday. Can't ask for much more! However, in 3 weeks I am headed back to NJ and DREADING the cold weather, especially when I didn't have fall to adjust. From shorts, sandals and t-shirts to jeans, boots and heavy coats in just 1 day is not a fun transition!

Yeah, Saxoneer...we be in da DEEP FREEZE tonight! It's already down to 31 degrees here in our little "gully" in Austin. We live on a creek bed at the bottom of a hill, so we tend to be at leat 5 degrees colder than what they say it's going to be "in town". Me? I'm lovin' it. Got shorts and a t-shirt on! I've had enough heat to last a lifetime!

It has been cold and rainy the past few days. The transition to a cold winter is almost finished here in Chicago and I do expect our first snow storm soon.

We have 4 or 5 inches of snow and an epic snow storm is heading our way. By late tonight and early tomorrow we are suppose to get about a foot more of snow. I love it. Even though it is a royal pain in the arse to get around in.

We all did that last Thursday evening. Wasn't fun. And then you always get those jerks that speed past you... So Friday home wasn't too fun. Not only did we have the whole town not plowed till 9:30 pm but people aren't nice.. (not that they ever are, but courtesy driving would be helpful..)

Rainy, gloomy weather today, much rather have snow here in South Jersey.
.... Last winter during a snowstorm, a green Mustang nearly ran us off the road. They didn't make it around the bend and slid off the highway and got stuck. We just honked and waved (they had honked at us when they passed us earlier.)

We had a bad winter last winter (2010/2011) and were warned about 4 or 5 months ago that this winter was going to be worse. But then the threatened snow, ice and whathaveyou never appeared, the weather has been far milder than normal for the time of year.

We've had high winds and heavy rain on and off for the last week or so... today hasn't been very nice

We had negative 10 degrees yesterday, so I decided to see if I could still run in that weather...I can, but I definitely DON'T like it!

Wow that is cold, so is -10 too.
We are suppose to get hit by a enormous snow storm, that is what one weather site posted. It's about 34 degrees right now, but it is getting colder, it will be in the high 20's tonight, just right for a huge snow storm.

Most people stop their outdoor activities (running, skiing, etc) at about -40F....most. I hate going outside when its this cold. Seriously, anyone looking for a person with a BA in History and a BA-equivalent degree in Art? I need to find a warmer place to live.

I do live in North Pole...find Fairbanks on a map of Alaska (center of the state) and go southeast about 15 miles.

We missed the worst part of the snow here. It is cold in the morning but nice when the Sun is out. It makes for a very slippery morning as all the melted snow ices over.

Over all it has been a mild winter and not the harsh one predicted. But winter is just starting, so I am not going to tempt fate here.

Holy Crap. The big storm hit us, first with a lot of snow and then freezing rain and wind. We have been without power for 4 days, we just got it back on,
