I've written a topic post called ( Mars to Earth ) in which I think and put up
a scenario in which a race of humaniod people came from the planet Mars many thousands of years ago and helped us along. They left Mars because the planet lost its atmosphere, water etc to sustain life. I'd like to ask how many of you think.
Will man ever set foot on Mars other than our rovers and probes?
Should we explore the ice caps, caves and caverns?
What do you think we will find? |

I believe there is a manned expedition planned for Mars and the Moon. Actually, NASA is wanting to set up outposts on both. One major drawback to this was water (it being too heavy to transport). But now, they have found a way to extract the water molecules in space, so water problem is solved.
This water technology is now available to us here on Earth and there are one or two companies selling water producing units. Basically, it extracts water from the humidity in the air. Cost = $1600. A bit steep, but with the water shortages already beginning, perhaps a good investment.
I am researching how to build one of these using dehumidfier (with purifier) and solar power as the energy source. If anyone finds some good plans, please post here or mail to me. |

Let's say water and fuel to and from Mars is no problem. Do you think we should go to Mars? Does what we stand to learn outweigh the risks and dangers to our Astronauts? |
