Ritual bowls?
Ritual bowls?
What are these bowls which I have stumbled upon in Abu Ghourab? What was their purpose? Do they not look as if they were cast or moulded rather than hewn from rock? What is the meaning of the notches surounding each bowl? Why are they set in a row like this?

Serapeum
Serapeum
The legendary Serapeum is where the sacred bulls of Apis are said to be buried. Archeologist A. Mariette discovered this temple in 1850, in the early days of archeology. But he did not found sacred bulls - he found a strange stinking mass containing thousands of bone pieces. The Serapeum is a big underground construction. The sarcophagus weight about 70 tons, the cover weights another 30 tons. Where these giant sacrophagus just built to put small stone pieces inside? Erich von Däniken speculated that here were beeings burried, which the "Gods" manipulated in a genetic way. The ancient Egyptians cut these beeings into a lot of pieces to destroy their bodies and to avoid that these dreadful beeings will be alive again.
