Yazilikaya (12 Gods)
Description:
About 200 km east of Ankara there is the ancient Hittite sanctuary Yazilikaya (=inscribed rock in Turkish language).
The relief of twelve gods in the small gallery is in a very good state of preservation. The Hittite sculptor has achieved the effect of figures marching side by side in parade by the device of overlapping the limbs.
